UniverSOUL Hip Hop is a multicultural collective of passionate dance artists dedicated to empowering communities and “making movement makers” worldwide through accessible, SOUL-centered performance, education, and programs. Rooted in Hip Hop, Street, and Club dance traditions, we blend cultural authenticity, high-caliber artistry, and professionalism with innovative design to create joyful, transformative experiences that foster intergenerational connection, creative agency, and wonder for all ages. Each year, we reach over 10,000 people and 100+ schools through partnerships with local artists and leading institutions like The Music Center, Downtown Disney, The Ford, and LA County schools.

Job Overview:
The UniverSOUL Hip Hop intern will support the production and operations of our upcoming production WonderLAnd at The Ford Theatre, as well as our programming in preparation for the 2025-2026 school year. The intern will work directly with the Programs Coordinator and Executive Assistant, assisting with logistics, community engagement, marketing, artist support, and creative content documentation.
This is a 10-week internship from August through October, with an average of 10 hours per week depending on program needs. Some evening and weekend availability is required for events and rehearsals. The work is mostly remote, with some in-person participation for live programs and events. There is also potential for part-time paid work upon successful completion of the internship.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:

Support staff with administrative and organizational tasks.

Assist with project coordination, including communications with artists and volunteers.

Help with on-site event needs including set-up, check-in, and audience experience

Contribute to social media and documentation efforts (photo/video, behind-the-scenes content)

Support administrative tasks related to future programming (e.g. school year bookings, community outreach, filing, data entry)

Required skills and qualifications:
-
Ideal candidates are passionate about community-centered arts, youth programming, and/or dance and culture. Applicants should be organized, proactive, and reliable, with strong communication skills. Familiarity with Google Workspace, Canva, and social platforms is a plus. Previous experience working with youth and marginalized communities is helpful but not required.
Job Type:
Part-time, averaging 10 hours per week, (with strong potential for paid-position advancement)
